In The Media: Gibraltar Chronicle
Friday, 3 January 2025
My first piece of international media—how exciting! Just before Christmas, Eyleen Gomez from the Gibraltar Chroniclestopped by our boat to chat about The Bridge and the challenges of writing at sea. We discussed how my travels around the UK inspired the creation of Odin’s Gale, as well as how my husband’s former work allowed me to bring realism to the maritime industry and to the Electron, the ship at the heart of the plot.
I shared how it’s often hard to find time to write, and even harder to find a sea state calm enough to work while underway. We also spoke about how Gibraltar is already sparking ideas for a future thriller setting. I’m imagining chase scenes through the maze-like streets, superyachts, and dark deeds unfolding in shadowy tunnels. While I haven’t worked out all the details yet, knowing me, the plot will be fast-paced and possibly… explosive.
